A cigarette with zero effects on health in 1960 invented by a company. "XA Cigarette".
In 1960, the company invented the cigarette with no health effects. "XA Cigarettes". By the early 1960s, tobacco companies not only recognized the dangers of smoking but had already found and registered an important step towards making cigarettes safer.
The idea was to heat the tobacco instead of burning it to avoid a process that produces most of the hazardous substances in tobacco smoke. According to internal company documents obtained by The New York Times, Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation, a subordinate of London-based British-American Tobacco Plc, adopted the idea of testing cigarettes code-named Ariel. This prototype was patented in 1966 but never went on sale.
According to company documents and interviews with scientists working on the documents, the company decided not to market safe products for fear that their other products would look bad.
But at the end of the story, every effort towards humanity remained fruitless. All the companies came together to save their tobacco business and forced this company to kill this safe cigarette. However, it could save the lives of millions of people, but business has won over humanity.
