Wonder why astronauts sometimes wear an orange suit and sometimes white?

But why do astronauts wear different costumes? What matters? First of all, each of these costumes has its own name. Orange is the Advanced Crew Escape (ACES) suit, and the white suit is Extravasic Activity (EVA). Here's what makes them different:

The Orange Advanced Crew Escape Suit (ACES) is a space shuttle ascent and entry kit. It is not the only orange in color, but only international orange is used. This color is clearly visible in any landscape, especially at sea.

The Extravehicular Activity (EVA) suits are heavy and white. This is because white reflects the scorching sun. Also, it is clearly visible in the black expanse of space.

Both were designed for very different but specific purposes.

ACES is designed to help astronauts in the event of an accident during takeoff or landing of a spacecraft. On the other hand, EVA is designed specifically for spacewalking.

The orange suit comes with a parachute string and even a knife in case of an emergency.

ACES (orange) are supplied with a parachute to open the parachute that is on the back of the astronaut. Even parachute cords have a knife to cut them, and the astronaut should stick to them. There is even a liferaft that opens backward on contact with water.

The white suit has a water cooling system, which is essential for outdoor survival.

The water cooling system in the EVA suits uses recycled body sweat to keep the astronaut cool in harsh conditions. He even has a suit bag filled with water, which remains on the six-hour spacewalk.

The white suit survival kit is more of a primary life support system.

Given the challenging conditions in space, the Eva suit comes with an adequate supply of oxygen, a battery, and a radio.
